ScanCam

Minimer

2010 will see the introduction of the unique ScanCam perimeter security system, which includes long-term storage of a mini-VTOL (vertical take-off / landing) UAV, live transmissionsof video signals to a remote operations centre, autonomous flight, and launch and retrieve system of the UAV. The ScanCam perimeter security system is a unique, in-house developed system for autonomous perimeter security. From a remote location, an operator can monitor and launch a mini-VTOL UAV stored in an acclimatized hangarScandicraft is developing a new concept for perimeter security and surveillance by storing an autonomous Quadrocopter in a remotely controlled hangar system. The drone is stored in standby mode and ready to launch 24/7. The perimeter can be guarded and secured with any type of sensors.

Autonomous response to security breaches

Minimer

When there is a security breach and a sensor is triggered, personnel at an operations center, situated anywhere in the world, can launch the drone with a mouse click. Instantly, the hangar opens and the automatic take-off procedure starts.Within maximum one minute the drone is the air and live  video is streamed on the screen at the operation center.  The MD4-200 flies by waypoint navigation, scanning the perimeter from the air. It then returns to a predefined landing site and lands autonomously.

Launch and retrieve through intuitive GUI

Minimer

The UAV will fly autonomously on one of a number of predefined routes and transmit live video to the operations centre. After flight, the UAV will
autonomously land in the hangar and dock in order to restore communication and charging of batteries - a perfect solution for securing remote locations, key infrastructure, enhancing or replacing manned solutions, and giving your security system that necessary edge.

Completely autonomous, the system will run without need for specific training of any personnel involved. The software has been developed with an intuitive GUI to allow easy training of operations room personnel.

Scandicraft is now producing the first ScanCam to be tested by the Norwegian Armed Forces in Q1 2010. Our partner in the development of the new version is Prodelox AB in Sweden, a leading company within product design and product development in Sweden.
